The North of England may seem out of place on a list of Celtic lands – but in the course of researching my book “The Ghosts of the Forest”, I have come to realise that the Celtic culture of the Old North played a far greater part in shaping the region than conventional wisdom would suggest. This page therefore contains a series of articles that view northern England through a Celtic lens; articles that explore sites connected to the Celtic cultures of the region, and discuss the Celtic influence on its folklore and legends. There is a lost inheritance awaiting in the hills and moors of the English Border Counties, waiting to be reclaimed – if I can act as a guide to help some of the residents of the North find that inheritance, I would be very pleased indeed.
